Little house on the Prairie (Ave)

We've been very busy the past few days!!  And I had so much fun with you kids and all of our outdoor projects. First we planted our gardens:

After our gardens were done we played in a tote box full of water for HOURS. You kids had so much fun and I loved watching you.  We also had our good friend Miles over for a picnic outside, Mommy was best friends with his Mommy in High School and it's fun to be moms together now and watch our kids play together.
We didn't have such a good ending to our really great day. At around 10pm, everyone started throwing up,  eeeeewwww! And the barf fest continued for a good 12+ hours. Momma and Daddy were VERY tired the next day. But we felt so bad for you kids, you slept most of the day the next day and eventually everyone started to perk up by mid afternoon. A new set of paints and Culvers lemon ice seemed to help...
On Saturday we went to the French Market to get some treats, Bobby, you got a cubs cookie, June, you got a ladybug cookie and when I asked what we should get Molly, June excitedly said " I will share little bites of my cookie with my baby sister!" How sweet! After the French Market we went to set-up a tent at Relay for Life. Daddy kept telling you kids that we were going to a "race" so when we got there all you wanted to do was chase each other around the hot track. It was good to see everyone feeling better and having fun again! When we got home you kids helped Daddy put up our new clothesline!

Tomorrow we are supposed to have church with Grandma and Grandpa at Blackwell Forest Preserve and then have a picnic. We'll see how Momma and Daddy feel though, you might have passed on your germs to us!

Here were some of the funny things you said this weekend:

Momma: " We will plant these marigolds to keep the animals out of our vegetables"
June: "Like coyotes, and wolves, and bears??"

June: "Bobby, do you wanna do a puppet show with me?"
Bobby: "No."
June: "Well, it haves a frog and a princess and a funny lookin' bee, and you're funny, so you could be the bee."

When we ask Molly what a monkey sounds like she says "ooh ooh ooh!" With a big giant smile on her angelic face.

Bobby - At Relay for Life they were doing glitter tattoos, June got a purple butterfly and you picked out a blue lizard, as they were peeling the lizard off you started to scream (in usual Bobby fashion) and the poor boy who was doing your tattoo got very flustered. So I had to help peel the rest off. When we got back to Momma's work tent you showed everyone your tattoo and said " I was very brave!" Hahaha!! Not exactly little man : )

Sleeping beauties

Hey Kids,

It's late. And you're all sleeping. And sometimes when you're sleeping, I come in to your  rooms and watch you for a few moments, and I just can't believe you are mine. Even the way you sleep says so much about each of your personalities. Bobby, tonight you were crammed into a little corner of your bed with you face stuck between the mattress and the side of the bed and your little bum was stuck up in the air. You looked so silly, you ARE so silly! June, you laid perfectly still on your back, with you  head turned to the side and your sweet, soft hair was sprawled out on the pillow. You looked like a perfect little angel. Molly, you still sleep between Dad and I and tonight I'm not sure there will be room for me on the bed! You have your arms and legs stretched out as far as they will go, one of your chubby little hands is resting on Daddy's stubbly face and your feet look so sweet, I had to bend down and give them a smooch. Everyone had moved a smidge by the time I got my phone to take pictures...

You kids are the best. Just the best.

Love,

Momma

PS Molly, I'm sorry about the terribly mismatched jammies. We're just running out of clothes that fit you...

Becoming Momma

You cry, I learn to listen. You are hungry, I learn to nourish. You are happy, I learn to laugh. You are sad, I learn to comfort. You are successful, I learn to praise, You are tired, I learn to rest. You are sorry, I learn to forgive. You are scared, I learn to be brave. You are you, I learn to love. Becoming Momma. There is no greater role.
